Quick PS3 HDMI question?

I’ve got a Sony KDL-40EX500 1080p HDTV. Will any HDMI Cable suffice for a PS3? What’s up with the 1.3 HDMI cables, does that make any difference at all when I’m looking at purchasing an HDMI cable for my PS3? What would you guys recommend I do? Thanks!
Update:
Also do I need the component cables as well. or just the HDMI?

  1. The only thing to watch out for with hdmi cables is build quality, some kind of fall apart or fail, but don’t spend 2 dollars on one and this shouldn’t be too much of an issue. As for the actual picture quality, HDMI is a digital signal, like all digital/data signals it’s either on or off, so it doesn’t matter how gold plated and what marketing terms they use, its all the same. You also don’t need component cables with the hdmi, hdmi supplies both video and audio. If you plug the hdmi in, and you don’t get a picture Put the ps3 in to standby and hold down the power button on the front of the console until it starts beeping at you, and this will reset the display settings, and allow you to set up the hdmi cable.
