  1. the best way to learn about the ps vita is to watch the review from youtube:

    [url is not allowed].

  2. Better hardware basically – touch screen, touch pad on back, dual thumb sticks, accelerometer, capacity to play augmented reality games, remote play between vita and ps3, 3G capacity for that model, built in front and rear cameras, mic, no built in hard drive, new proprietary slots for new proprietary memory card, power cable and vita game card.

Software updates – new web browser which unanimously has been declared to be awful; new menu (UI) design, ability to keep in-game play while using some other apps (some apps you cant), main menu is made up of apps and a tabbed view of what you have running, apps for non-gaming stuff, Sony Entertainment Network – PSN store for game downloads (game is displayed separate from the online pass) including some PSP titles, Music unlimited, Netflix, cross play with some PS3 games (i.e. cross platform multiplayer), updated remote play with ps3, chat on the PSN.

Theres most probably a few more.

  3. Basic differences:

    – A higher end CPU plus a GPU

    – 5″ OLED screen vs 4.3″ full transparent LCD.

    – Psp had 480 x 272 pixels while the Ps vita has 960*544 pixels both have 16:9 aspect ratio.

    – Ps vita has two cameras. Front and back.

    – Increase on one more analog stick.

    – Front multi touch screen

    – Rear multi touch pad as a good replacement for r1 and l1 buttons on controllers.

The only problem I see in getting the Ps vita is that you would have to buy a card separately and that card is expensive. So I would recommend you to go for the Ps vita 3g bundle which comes with a 8Gb memory card so I dont have to buy the 32Gb one immediately. Plus it comes with AT&T DataConnect Session Pass and free psn game.

I would still say that its worth it as there are good amount of features in a low price. Em surprised to see that they managed to keep the price low with that GPU and CPU. Here is a good review with good info on which bundle to get:

And here you would be able to find the best selling bundle for the Ps vita:

  4. Q: What is the difference between the PSP system and the PS Vita in terms of hardware specs?

    Advanced portable entertainment system

A high performance CPU / GPU combined with OLED enables rich, visually striking graphics never seen before on a portable entertainment system. PS Vita also adopts the Super Oval Design form factor, which fits comfortably in users’ hands.

    Revolutionary User Interface

A unique multi-touch pad on the rear, with the front touch display. Two cameras on it’s front and rear, as well as three motion sensors, gyroscope, accelerometer, and electronic compass.

    LiveArea

Every game title for PS Vita will be provided with a space called “LiveArea” where users can share the fun and excitement with other players.

    Location-based services

SCE will provide location-based services on PS Vita as part of the basic features utilizing PlayStation Network. The new application called “Near,” developed specifically for this service and the network, will be pre-installed in the system.

    Wi-Fi and 3G network connectivity

PS Vita is equipped with 3G in addition to Wi-Fi.

    Closely coordinated with PlayStation Suite

The newly developed and released game content for Android based portable devices can also be enjoyed on PS Vita.
