I was just wondering if buying an HDMI cable would be worth buying. Would it better than the standard hd cables the system comes with?(red, green, blue) i have an hd tv and compatible console by the way

  1. I bought an HDMI cable for my system and you do notice a slight difference in picture quality, nothing earth shattering but probably worth it if you can find a cheap one. A lot of times Target will have clearance ones at the ends of the aisles in the electronics sections that are marked down by at least 50%. Hope this helps!

  2. The others are incorrect, to some degree. The xbox is capable of outputting 1080p via component, but it also depends if your TV accepts this signal. IF not, then an HDMI cord may be the way to go. Also, if you are watching DVDs, the 360 will only upscale the picture quality via VGA or HDMI. So if you’re wanting the better picture while watching movies, go for it. But if you’re just playing games, check if your TV will accept 1080p over component and save yourself the money!

  3. Yes, it would. This is a must if you are hooking it up to a flat screen tv. Buy one off of ebay though.the big box stores mark these up horrendously to around 20-25 bucks and you can get one from ebay for about $5 for a 6ft cable.
