A game copy refers to the process of storing copies of original video games on back-up discs in order to avoid liabilities associated with damage or theft of these products.

Games such as those played on Xbox, PlayStation and Wii gaming consoles, are being sold at premium prices; and costs and not likely to be reduced by the manufacturers any time soon.

It is no wonder that when one finally affords to buy these video games, along with all the gaming equipment necessary for the game to function- they soon are treated like important assets. No one can afford the lavish spending that was once possible in better financial times, let alone having to consider the repurchase a game that was carelessly scratched or otherwise damaged, or even stolen by visitors to one’s house.

To make a game copy, one must first have access to a computer or laptop with the ability to “burn” discs. All laptops and computers are now being manufactured with these capabilities, so all a person has to worry about is where and how to source the special software necessary for facilitating the backing-up of original game discs.

The special back-up software is needed to compliment the work of the computer’s “burning” facility, because it is able to decode the encryption, embedded in most CD and DVD games. The encryption is intended to protect the game software from illegal “boot-legging”.

The back-up software can be sourced online from the comfort of home, or office. Many websites offer great discounts and free trial periods to persons scouting around for good bargains. Software like the Easy Back-up Wizard can be bought at computer stores on discs or online for an average price of $50.00US.

Once the software has been sourced and loaded on to the computer, the following actions are needed to complete the backing-up process:
1. Insert the PC game and allow it time to be processed by the installed copy software.
2. Remove the game and insert all the blank discs one by one. Allow the computer to “burn” or “rip” the game to the blank discs.
3. The process is deemed a success once the copies can be played back without any problems.

Please note, this process is not illegal as long as the reasons for the copies are the ones given above, and also, the person doing the copying legitimately purchased the original game or was gifted with one.

Creating copies of PC game original discs will enable owners of these games to finally have peace of mind, not having to worry about losing these valuable assets to theft or damage.
