Xbox 360 Data Transfer from 120GB HDD to new 120GB HDD?

I just bought a new Xbox 360 Elite today. I previously had the pro and had upgraded it to the 120GB HDD. Now that I have the the new xbox I would like to transfer all the data to the new hard but do not know how to do so.

I still have the previous data transfer kit from when I upgraded to the 120GB HDD however it does not work in this scenario. It says I must connect previous 20GB HDD to continue thus defeating the point of what I want to accomplish.

Any ideas?

  1. I would suggest going to a gaming store (Game Exchange, Game Stop) and ask them to do a transfer between the 2. They know how and most importantly I got mine done for free. However when I had done mine it was 20G to 120G. It could also be a fault with your device itself. However if you ask a Gaming store they call tell you exactly what you need to know.

  2. Micro$oft is tricky. Data transfers only work when transferring to larger hard drives, not ones that are of equal and lesser space. At this point, you can go to Xbox.com and fix all the electronic signatures of your content and reassign them to your new unit.
