Are intercoolers necessary for an Xbox 360?


This is the one I’m going to buy [url is not allowed] so should i pay 10-20 dollars on an intercooler or is it a waste of money and explain why

  1. I have had my 360 Pro for three years and have never had a problem with overheating. If there is enough air flow around the xbox then a cooler will not be necessary. Do you plan on keeping it in an enclosed entertainment center? If not, you have nothing to worry about.

  2. Intercoolers are a great way to slow down/avoid the overheat issue with the 360. Just make sure the intercooler is compatible with the 360, some are known to spin the wrong way and blow the motor on the 360 fan assembly. Some can also suffocate the 360 and not let it cool down properly. Either way for $10-$20 you can’t go wrong no matter how long you play, the cooler the better


  3. Any cooling is good and will pre-long life same as your pc, but you have to be careful which you buy, as the power cord usually runs into the cooler and then the cooler into the xbox, some cheaper brands or copies have been known to get hot and melt/catch fire.
