can a xbox 360 disk drive be fixed?

So I had my xbox360 (not second hand) but bout 2 years but lately the disk drive has been acting tacky as hell. Often it would not open and I would have to gently push it out by moving something very thin in between the edges of the drive so it would come out when I pressed the eject button but now it seems to have jammed totally and no matter what I do or how many times I press the eject button it won’t eject. Its stuck.

Is there anyway to get this sort of problem fixed? has anyone else had the same problem? i hope I don’t have to fork out for a whole new xbox as this one is fine it just the disk drive that’s at fault.

  1. Yeah mine does this time to time. Didn’t happen till I opened up the Xbox it self but to fix it, I simply turn the Xbox on its side and then eject. Works 90% of the time. If that doesn’t work, blow very hard into the edges of the disc drive and then eject.

When it really wants to get stuck I jam a butter knife in there and pry the thing out manually. Just press eject and then stick it in about half an inch and pry away. it’ll open.
