Does connecting your Ps3 to your Laptop give you online playing?

Like, i purchased a cord that the clerk said would give me a wired connection being that my wireless is secured. And i cant find where to put it on the pc becuz it doesn’t fit in the open female piece. so i was wondering will i get online playing with connecting it to my laptop?

  1. You cannot use your laptop as a bridge to connect to the internet. You must directly connect to the router, or have a wireless transmitter attached to the PS3, which is transmitting to a wireless router.

    Yes he was right you can do that. It uses your laptop’s ability to pick up wireless signals and sends it to your PS3.

    Edit: make sure he gave you an ethernet cable. your laptop should have that outlet.

    2nd Edit: I am using a bridged connection I dont know why Val J would specifically say that you can’t do that. Here is a link to a how to.

  3. Regardless of whether or not it is capable or not, why would you not just directly connect the PS3 to the internet with wi-fi or LAN?
